Consumer Complaint: I incurred a bill at XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) in XXXX of XXXX. The billing was incorrect in that about a {$9000.00} insurance payment had not been applied. After I called and spoke with a representative of XXXX in mid XXXX, the insurance info was re-submitted and the remainder was my portion of the bill to pay. I made bi-weekly payments until XX/XX/XXXX when I paid the remainder of the bill ( {$100.00} ) in full. XXXX never sent me any notice stating that my account was sent to a collection agency. In fact, my balance was still on the website where my payments were received and as stated, I was still making payments on the balance of over {$200.00} dollars, bi-weekly.

I did get a letter from a collection agency but I disregarded it because the balance was incorrect, I never received notice about my balance going to collections, I had never heard of State Collection Services and it looked like a scheme to impersonate a non-existent state agency, and XXXX was still showing the correct balance and accepting my regular payments. XXXX received the last payment on XX/XX/XXXX and I received a credit monitoring alert today, XX/XX/XXXX that a collection agency has posted to my account.
